I think this is the same compilation as the Atari Anthology that was released on PS2 and Xbox. The game can be beaten in under a minute as you can run a 1-lap race. I set it to 10 laps to require a good amount of consistency to beat the CPU without having the race drag on.

This is a very late release in the Atari 2600's lifetime (1988), as the box advertises it for use on the 7800 and 2600. It features 1- or 2-player play, 9 tracks with 3 different surface types, the option to race 1-50 laps, and the option to either bounce back or crash when you hit a wall. If it had been released in the late-'70s or early-'80s, the box probably would have proclaimed it to have 108 different games (or maybe even 5400 different games, or even 10,800 if you want to include the two difficulty settings). So, it has a good amount of variety.

Depending on the track, the CPU can either be really easy to beat or really hard to beat. Since the two cars on the track don't collide (maybe they do in 2-player mode, but I didn't try it out), the CPU runs a perfectly consistent race, so it pretty much turns into a time trial. There are two temporary "power-ups" you can pick up on the course: extra traction and extra speed. Unfortunately, the speed boost makes your car way too fast to be able to take any corner. There are also two hazards on the track: water and oil slick. The water just slows you down to a crawl, while the oil slick pretty much just slings you straight forward for a bit.

While primitive for the time it was released, only having two cars, considering the 8-bit generation was in full swing, I think it's still good for something to play when you have a little time to spare.
