Didn't really beat it (I'm guessing you can't beat it), but I broke 100,000 points (111,715 to be exact), which is a good enough goal for me. I made it to Level 5, Round 3.
I've never played the arcade version so I can't compare it to that. But I can compare it to the Atari 2600 version, and the TI version blows that away. While it's a frustrating game, especially (for me) getting used to the controls, I found it mildly addictive trying to get to that next level. It also didn't help that my cartridge froze up many times forcing a system power off and on.
