Took me about 14 hrs, counting the handful of Game Overs I had (my file has it at 12:44).

I really liked the battle system, even though a few of the battle "arenas" were too small for what it would have realistically been (especially for the end boss). Unfortunately, that's all I liked about the game. Just when it started getting fun, it went into a long drawn out story section -- and I found the story to be idiotic (yeah, NYC is just going to completely evacuate in a few hours, and even before it did there was a surprisingly complete lack of people and traffic). Without access to the single item storage location for most of the game, the limited inventory did become an issue for me. I thought ammunition was going to become an issue, but I quickly amassed about 300 rounds and never dropped below 400 by the midway point -- and it's a good thing ammunition is almost completely interchangeable between all the firearms (I never did find a rocket launcher).

Other than the optional crab I unsuccessfully tried a few times to defeat, there was virtually zero challenge to the game up until the final two boss fights. And those were only somewhat difficult because of the Parasite Energy bar not charging after a little while (I don't know if this was supposed to be like that since it's not mentioned anywhere that this happens), so I had to waste turns utilizing what could be considered a cheat to get it to start charging again. Haste only lasting for about 45 seconds also made them a bit difficult since I spent a large chunk of my turns recasting Haste. In the end, it only took me 5 or 6 tries to beat the end boss, which is a good thing because it has about a 2 minute unskippable sequence leading up to the battle.
