This was my second playthrough.
This is my least favorite of the first six games (not counting the travesty that is the fan-made Swords of Xeen). While it is an excellent game, there are just too many places where it's just a tedious slog to get through. I spent easily 20 hours in one dungeon alone, which should not have taken nearly that long. Most of the dungeon designs are spectacular. The addition of Skill Points and Expert and Master levels for the Secondary Skills is really nice. I like the ability to toggle between turn-based and real-time at any time.
Things I didn't like about it:
Reduction of the party size from 6 to 4.
Removal of races -- you're characters can only be humans.
Travel time between map sectors.
The ending is a letdown, especially after the really good ones for Darkside and World of Xeen.
Way too many enemies with ranged attacks. This turned a lot of the combat into finding a way to cheese the system to where wall corners became a huge factor.
