Beat it on Normal difficulty. Ended up with Code Name of Shark, whatever that means. Got what I believe is the good ending.

I seriously disliked this game. I really can't say there was any point in the game where I was actually having fun or enjoying my experience. I've always disliked those stealth sections in other games where you'd have to wait for guards to be looking away and then sneak by them, and just about the entirety of this game is doing this. I found the boss battles up until the end boss sequence to almost all be simply tedium. The end boss sequence was just awful, especially when it got down to the fistfight (I don't know how many times I'd run up to him, end up being slightly to his side, and as a result miss on all my punches and kicks) and Jeep sequence.

Something about the people in-game telling you to push buttons on your controller, changing controller ports, etc. just seems really out of place for a game that's seemingly going for realism (I think this might be an example of what people call "breaking immersion"). The twitchy character animations and lack of mouth movement outside of the Codec communications when they're talking was pretty bad. The inability of using more than one item at a time makes absolutely no sense -- I'm pretty sure you could equip a gas mask and still use a key card in real life, for example.

This will be the only Metal Gear game I ever envision myself playing.
